There can be a lot of reasons that he is unable to send / receive emails. Might I suggest you set the security settings in Internet explorer to a lower setting? Additionally, I would set the windows defender to disabled if you are running AVG, as having double security is sometimes not the best way to defend your computer.

He is using Vista and his having some problems with his Outlook. Some emails are not being sent or received because Windows blocks it. He is running AVG so he says he doesn’t want Windows checking the emails being sent or received. Is it possible, and if so whats the best way to change the settings.
